Students will prevent the summer learning slide through reviewing reading, math, writing, science and social studies activities together in a fun, no-stress class!

I am a certified elementary teacher and have taught science, social studies phonics, reading, writing and math for many years. Before teaching 2nd grade, I tutored students in reading comprehension, decoding words, math and science after school and during the summer. I was also a Title 1 reading intervention specialist for grades kindergarten-3rd grade focusing on reading fluency and comprehension strategies. I have worked in a preschool and pre-k setting as well working on a variety of literacy skills. 

Homework Offered
Learners will be assigned a few pages of the workbook after the class is finished. The learners should be able to finish these activities within 20-30 minutes and may need some assistance reading the directions. This homework is not mandatory, but for extra practice at home to prevent the dreaded "summer slide"!

Assessments Offered
The learner will be assessed informally through discussion and written work.
