I am a certified teacher with an English degree. I have taught at Alamo Community College. I also created and own Light Up Literature™ Curriculum. Before becoming an English teacher, I was a medical editor for 3M. I'm highly engaging, and I work well with ADHD kiddos (because I am one).
Homework Offered
Homework will be assigned to build mastery on the skills covered during the week.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
The third-party tools used help support independent and classroom learning. I use a non-profit program named Quill.org to support whole-class modeling skills and then provide additional independent work for students to continue practicing and mastering the subject. I assign Quill.org to eliminate needing an email unless it is easier for the parent. It will be a version of the student's first name and Outschool will be assigned their last name, which will also be their password. Light Up Literature™ Curriculum is my own website, in which students will be given personalized lessons based on their need for extra support or enrichment. They will create their own account. YouTube videos will be used sparingly and as needed. Puzzel.org allows students to have fun practicing skills they are learning in engaging ways. Kahoots are typically used at the end of class to provide a fun formal assessment.
