In this course, students will learn about sculptures from across the world and the timeline of history. Students will discuss and analyze the art they see. Will consider techniques the artist used and methods of creation. Students will learn about the sculpture's history, its reception at the time, and its importance today in art history. We'll consider what we know about the artist or work of art and what we learned in the meeting. There may be some cross-over with other Summer of Art/Art...
I am a college art history instructor. Each of these works of art are important in the history of art and culture. I take sections of my normal classes and break them down into short pieces easier for students to digest. I encourage students to ask the hard questions and dig deeper.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
