Description
Class Experience
This 2-Day version of the course is the same as the three-day version, only it takes place in one week's time (8 days). Students will meet the first day, introduce themselves and receive their three mystery baskets. Students will then have one week to complete all three of their dishes before returning the following week to present them, In this cooking club inspired by the show "Chopped," students will be given a cooking challenge each week, then return the following to share and discuss...
Students will improve critical thinking skills and creativity as they apply to cooking. Students will also learn more about cooking techniques and ingredients.
My primary job is being a high school English teacher; however, I also love food and love to cook. I have been cooking since I was a kid and even though I am not culinarily trained, I am an excellent chef with 20 years of experience working in restaurants and as a private caterer.
Students will prepare 3 original dishes using the four ingredients in the designated basket. Students will take photos of the dishes and be prepared to discuss what they made.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be working in the kitchen, cutting, and cooking. This course is designed for students that are already experienced in the kitchen. New students are welcome but will need the guidance and assistance of a third party. Kitchen safety is always important and is the sole responsibility of the parents. Please be sure to supervise students when needed.
