Class Experience

US Grade 1
NOTE: if you have come across this class for the 2024-2025 school year, I have combined grades 1 & 2 for social studies. The standards are the same for both grades, we will just go deeper.

On my class page you will find social studies sections for grades 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5-6

This class will cover social studies themes such as communities, families, economics, geography, needs vs wants, US landmarks / symbols, and more. I will use songs, books, video clips and art to create an interactive learning environment to help students stay engaged. The concepts under social studies can be harder concepts for young learners to grasp - it’s not as cut and dry as a science topic. Due to this, there will be a lot of hands-on learning. Students will begin to understand the world they live in and discuss what their roles and responsibilities are.
