In this course students will be practicing different skills used in the 1st grade classroom. One day is focused on a language arts skill, one day is focused on math, and one day is focused on science/social studies. Day one will focus on sentence structure and creating sentences that turn into stories. Day two will focus on counting up to 50 and strategies we can use when solving challenging math problems. Day three will focus on a timeline. We will discuss what a timeline is and then create...
Students will be able to problem solve an academic challenge they encounter. Students will be able to recognize new sight words. Students will be able to create their own timeline.
Students will not be assigned homework, but practicing skills that were taught in class help the students secure their understanding of the skill.

Students will be assessed informally through observation. At the end of the week parents will be sent a message highlighting students strengths, areas for improvement, and practice ideas for that child.
2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
For young learners parental guidance is encouraged in case of technical difficulties or the student is in need of supplies.
