Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Learners will strengthen their addition and subtraction fact fluency skills by learning facts within 10. Learners will learn how to: * use a ten frame to solve problems more easily * learn to use fact strategies including + and -0, + and -1, combinations of 10, fact families, and doubles facts within 10 * find key information in a word problem * solve word problems with a missing addend * explain their mathematical thinking * interact with peers online
There is no homework for this class. While there is no required homework, taking 10-15 minutes a day to practice math facts is always beneficial.
* White erase board (lap board) * Dry erase marker * White board eraser * Learners who do not have a white erase board and/or printing capabilities can use several sheets of paper and a regular marker instead.
Feedback will be shared with learners informally throughout the lesson. Parents will be able to observe their child's progress through the written worksheet completed near the end of class.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
