Historical Inventions Club: LEGO Brainstorm, Bricks and Builds

A li’l history, a li’l engineering, a lot of fun. In this weekly club, I’ll introduce an important invention that changed how we live today. I’ll give a few clues, then students will guess the invention before recreating it using LEGO.
Class experience
The lightbulb. The printing press. The airplane. I’ll start each class by sharing a few clues about the chosen invention. Students will have opportunities to guess what invention I’m describing. After I reveal the invention and its inventor, we will briefly discuss its impact on how we live today. Why was it significant? How did it change or improve people’s lives? Is it still important today? Students will have 15-20 minutes to recreate it with their LEGOs. If time allows, students...
Students will need LEGO bricks and pieces in order to recreate the inventions in class. Any of the Classic (yellow box) sets will suffice.
