Description
Class Experience
Students will be responsible for reading assigned chapters outside of class. In class, teacher will ask discussion questions, and will assign students a chapter to discuss the following class. Depending on class size, more than one student may be assigned the same chapter. As a certified teacher, we sometimes have to discuss tough and dark issues . This topic will be discussed with the respect and dignity. I encourage each parent to research each book to make sure it is a fit for your child and family. All sensitive topics will be discussed with respect. This rule is not negotiable. Respectful discussion is mandatory.
The students will be assigned chapters to read at home, and they should be ready to discuss the chapters in class. There may also be small writing assignments as well as short discussion questions in the classroom periodically.
1984 Access to download, print and upload, A spiral notebook would be helpful to organize all notes and writing.

1984 George Orwell's thought-provoking novel 1984 covers the themes of dehumanization, isolation, repression, loneliness, social class disparity, and abuse of power. These topics will be discussed in a respectful manner. There is sexual content in this book. It is not discussed in class as it is not important to discuss and understand the book. We leave it at the characters have a relationship. I encourage each parent to research each book to make sure it is a fit for your child and family.
