Description
Class Experience
In this 75 minute course students will dive into the history on the creation of a victory garden, their implementation and the amounts of food they produced. Covered will be the uses of the vegetables as well as the home preservation techniques used of the time. Students will be encouraged to create their own victory garden from the foods their families eat at home. Likewise, students will explore what a victory garden in Texas in 1942 may have looked like to that of one in Maine! Students...

This class is to understand the implementation and basic value of a garden, we will cover ruler skills, planning, climate and location, as well as a look into the selection of seeds.
I am a Historian. I am currently qualified to teach k-8 and in the Fall of 2023 I will hold a MA in History. My family and I live on 4 acres of Maine woodlands, and we have all sorts of gardens.

1 file available upon enrollmentStudents will only need graphing or blank paper, a ruler, pencil and coloring pencils for a more artistic touch. Also an idea of what students eat at home on a regular basis may be useful to list before the start of class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
