This course will run for 12 weeks and cover three aspects of writing for middle-grade students. We will spend time on the four poetry types; short stories; and reports. Week 1: Poetry: Acrostics We will use freewriting to get ready for writing acrostic poems and talk about how to elevate the poetry style from early acrostic poems students may have written.
