Class Experience
This is a flex class which means there are no live classes but there will be teacher interaction. Each week, I will post this week’s lessons and assignments in the form of videos that I create. I will teach students how to solve equations and expressions needed for preparation for Advanced 7th/8th grade, rising high school students taking Algebra or a review for high school Geometry/Algebra 2. Students should take notes accordingly and prepare as if they were sitting in a classroom. The design of the course is that students have weekly lessons as well as homework/practice questions. All of which will be pre-recorded and available for the student. The lessons are designed as if they would in person and follow the “I do, we do, you do” model. I will also use peardeck which is an interactive platform where some activities would ask for student collaboration and team effort to complete problems. Student progress is tracked and monitored through their submissions and discussions but answer keys will be provided for homework/practice questions. Students will engage in weekly discussions on the outschool platform. If students have any questions, I encourage them to first post to the discussion to foster further discussion around mathematics, they can also email me for more targeted feedback and/or we can set up an individual tutoring session(s) to go over any misconceptions or misunderstandings in a one to one setting. The topics I will cover is as follows: Lesson 1: Order of Operations Lesson 2: Evaluating Algebraic Expressions Lesson 3: Parts of an Expression & Combining Like Terms Lesson 4: Distributive Property and Combining lIke terms Lesson 5: Solving one and two step equations * strong focus on two step equations Lesson 6: Solving and Graphing two step inequalities Lesson 7: Translating and Solving Equations Lesson 8: Solving Multi Step Equations Lesson 9: Solving Equations w. Variables on both sides Lesson 10: Solving Equations w. no solution/Infinite Solutions Lesson 11: Solving Proportions Lesson 12: Solving Absolute Value Equations If 12 weeks is too long, please check out my 4, 6 and 8 Week courses!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been a New York State Certified Math Teacher for eight years and in that time, I have taught 6th, 7th, 8th Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 Common Core Math. I currently teach Geometry and Algebra 2.
I am very well versed in middle school and high school math and have seen how certain topics develop as the rigor increases throughout one's math education. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have been able to effectively teach students in all capacities, whether they are learning from a laptop, ipad or phone, I will do my best to reach all my students.
When I am not teaching, I love to play with my rescue pup, Leo!
