Class Experience

This Class is meant for students who know the basic rules of Magic the Gathering but want to improve their skills in decision making and strategy. The class will primarily be playing games and creating scenarios where students will learn what are the usual best practices but also when exceptions can be made.
Students do not need to have their own cards to learn but are welcome to bring their own. I will be using a Magic the Gathering interface that would provide students with cards and the opportunity interact directly.
Students will need to have basic knowledge of the game before taking this class. I offer " Magic the Gathering 101: Learn to play" which students can take prior if needed.

Learning Goals

Student should be able to confidently play on their own and create new strategies on their own.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi I have been a practitioner HEMA (historical Eurpean Martial Arts) for about 10 years and I wish to share my knowledge to all those who wish to learn. My main specialties are in German longsword, military saber and single stick in which I have won multiple medals in each category. My main class will be in these three weapons, their historical context and how to martially use them in a fight. My classes will basically be an active history class, as student will get to have a hands on learning experience in a long forgotten art.
Due to the natural limitations of HEMA being a reconstructed art, my classes are meant to be more as a guide rather than a strict master to student relation. Students are encouraged to question and experiment in their path to reconstruct the art and I just provide the tools that I have found most effective to get me to where I am today.
My experience in HEMA is wide ranging having competed and won in many events across the country. At one point I was ranked #5 in Longsword in the world and was part of the American team to fight in the international European games in Minsk.
Probably one of my funnest accomplishments was being able to compete in TV show Knife or Death.
