Class Experience
US Grade Preschool - 3
Writing is an important part of literacy, and I want my students to become stronger writers - and actually WANT to write, too! My writing lessons are engaging and fun, and increase students' independence as writers. I teach how to write personal narratives, informational writing, opinion pieces and letters, biographies, and poetry. CLASS CONTENT: -Short lesson and demonstration on how to plan and write the genre. -Language arts/grammar exercises (i.e. sentence fixing, sentence combining) that complement the lessons. -Visual aids, graphic organizers, an alphabet chart, and writing stages display. - An assessment of students’ writing at the beginning, middle, and end of enrollment (with comprehensive narrative, information, and opinion writing rubrics).
Learning Goals
Organizing thoughts and expressing them on paper, even if student is mostly drawing.
