1:1 Weekly Private Writing Tutor - Certified Teacher with Reading Master's

Are you looking for writing help for your learner in a private 1:1 session? If so, this is a great way to engage your learner with writing in a weekly tutoring session.

Having taught many learners ( K - 5th) in Outschool group writing classes, I am expanding my writing instruction to private sessions. Many families have enjoyed my Little Learners, Pencil Pack, and Pencil Pal writing courses that have 4 - 6 learners, but expressed interest in having more direct instruction and time to work with their learner.

With that said, I have designed a course to meet those needs. My private class will only have your learner in order to focus on individualized writing help.  Prior to our session, I ask that the family to please message me and let me know what exactly you would like covered. Is there a specific topic they need help with?  As a parent or care-giver, you know what's best for your learner and I am excited to help support their learning. It is important the tutoring is centered about their specific learner needs. 

I will use your feedback on what skills they need to develop lessons based on those needs. I will always include work on sentence structure (complete thought, punctuation, capitalization, etc.), adding details to expand our writing, and even spelling! 

I am a licensed teacher and hold a Master's in Reading and am Nationally Board Certified. I currently work as a school librarian, but have taught 2nd and 3rd grade for many years. Instilling a love of reading is important to me as reading is the gateway to all learning! It also is important to foster writing skills and making writing fun is one of my specialties.

After each session, I will send out an assignment that will allow your child to continue working on skills practiced during our session. It is up to each individual family as to whether they want their learner to complete the assignment. I offer it to everyone and those that wish to take advantage of it are encouraged to submit it me at least 1 day prior to the next session. Upon receiving the assignment, I will review your child's work and provide feedback.
