1:1 Verbs are Cool: Class with Ms. Ginger

This 1:1 verb class is for students of all levels. Students will benefit from a 1:1 environment by learning at current grade/age level or moving to a more challenging lesson. Also, our lessons will help by strengthening ELA skills by tackling this part of speech.

Verbs come in all types, tenses, past, present, future, plurals, irregular, action, linking, helping, transitive, intransitive, auxiliary, phrasal, oh my! 

In this session, readers will explore verbs in more detail with reading, deep dives into verb tenses, and classroom discussions. This class has been offered live for several years and the content has been adapted and modified for a 1:1 class. The first class will gauge level and establish rapport. Continuing lessons will scaffold as needed to bring the student up to level or challenge them.

Students will improve their skills in an engaging, supportive classroom. Supplemental work may include taking a simple story and rewriting it in a different verb in order to master the skill. Or finding a particular verb tense being used in their daily life. 

Classes can range from challenging, ESL, ELA Skills Improvement, Intensive, or Supplemental Learning. Please let me know in advance what is the preferred learning pathway or desired outcome.

I love getting specific requests from parents because it helps me target an area of learning prior to our session. Optional weekly packets, by parent request, will include activity sheets dependent upon the type of verb. 

For a more complex verb series, we will continue for several sessions until completed or mastered.
