This interactive tutoring session is offered to support essay writing skills. There are two types of sessions available: Homework Assistance and Essay Writing Development. 

Homework Assistance is available for those who have homework assignments that require paragraph writing, essay writing, blog writing, or literary analysis. Students are expected to provide instructions on the homework requirements (having this information before our session will allow for a better use of our time). If the homework assignment is a Blog post, students should be able to provide clear instructions to the tutor, regarding what the homework requirements are since blogs are less formal in general. If the homework assignment involves commenting on a book/ story, the student should have knowledge of the story prior to joining the session.

Essay Writing Development is available for students who would like to improve their essay writing skills. Students will focus on developing clarity in their writing. By using free write exercises and exploring different essay topics, students will work to improve both the clarity and complexity of their writing. It can take 3-4 sessions to finish the first essay, afterwards essays are usually finished in 2-3 sessions depending on the length and essay type.

- Feedback on Student work (feedback may be verbal or written)

These sessions are not designed to introduce grammar. Worksheets, short videos, and online tests are provided to students as necessary to aid in improving these areas. These items are generally provided for use outside of the private lesson and the tutor will look for it's incorporation into the essays being written. 

In order to get the most out of our Private Lessons, it is recommended to book at least 2 sessions to ensure that the teacher can provide feedback on homework and gauge student comprehension/ writing improvement.
