The modules/ lessons aim:

to help students develop their knowledge and understanding of events, periods of history, and key leadership in order to assess its impact on modern society; to engage students in historical enquiry, exercise critical thinking, and develop the ability to ask pertinent and relevant questions about the past and its impact on the world; to help students formulate well-substantiated arguments and effectively communicate their historical knowledge, understanding and conclusions.

They will develop skills in approaching problems geographically, using maps and geospatial technologies, thinking critically about texts and graphic images, interpreting cultural landscapes, and applying geographic concepts such as scale, region, diffusion, interdependence, and spatial interaction, among others.

Hi, I’m Johnette and I have over ten years teaching experience in bilingual, state and international schools. I've taught KS3 - A levels History and Geography,  Humanities and English as a Foreign Language in classroom and online settings. I used to work in a secondary school in England and have a full DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service). I’m also a CIE History Assessment Specialist/ Assistant Examiner. I have professional development certifications in teaching CIE IGCSE, AS and A Level History.

I have a proven track record including helping my students achieve the highest marks for Cambridge International Examinations IGCSE History in the whole of China and Malaysia (in June 2010, June 2016 and October 2022 examinations).

I enjoy teaching students of different ability levels, cultures and backgrounds and try to make lessons interesting for all my students. I also like to help students achieve their full academic potential and get them inspired about the world around them.

Homework Offered
Homework is optional but students are encouraged to do independent research about the historical and geographical content topics.
