Description

Class Experience

Personalized to fit your child's needs.
I LOVE English! No, really I do. :)
How much you ask?
I graduated with a degree in English Literature (a loooong time ago), I am an Accredited IEW Educator for K-12 learners, an Accredited TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher...and that's just the tip of the iceberg! When I'm not teaching, creating lesson plans, homeschooling my own children, or creating copy, you can find me with my nose stuck in a book!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I consider the time we spend together an opportunity to assess your learner. After class, I will send detailed feedback letting you know how your child did, any areas of concern, and additional resources (depending on the session and tutoring need) so that the learning can continue outside of the classroom.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
If possible, please message me regarding the areas of concern that you would like your child to focus on during class.

If it is homework help that the student needs, please attach the homework assignment so I can make sure we are working within the teacher's guidelines.

I have a vast library of books and novel studies that we can work with, however, learners do best when they read about a topic they're passionate about. For the best experience, please message me before scheduling a time so that I can have books prepared for our meeting OR if there is a book they are working on for school, please send me the title and author.

Please note that I use Archive.org to screen share books. This is a public library with access to thousands of books. Your child will NOT log in or sign in to this site.

In some cases, we may use Google Docs as a writing tool to discuss literary elements. This too will be screen shared during our meeting.
