This is a 1:1 reading tutoring session dedicated to supporting the child learning to read. An assessment will be completed at the beginning and every 3 months to assess the needs of the child and any gaps in learning.

Class Experience
This is a 1:1 reading tutoring session dedicated to help your learner read fluently. An assessment is always completed at the beginning of the session and every 3 months unless otherwise discussed/decided. This is for one time, 50 minute session. This session is student led. I was one of those readers once and I totally understand! Now I’m an elementary teacher with a heart for those that struggle! The session structure will be: 1. Greeting the student. 2. Letting the students take turns...
The student will learn how to read smoothly and to feel more confident with his or her reading skills.
I suggest reading for at least an hour throughout the day each day. It does not have to be all at once and can be in 2 -30 minute sessions, but the more exposure to reading the better and smoother the student will become.
40 minutes per class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
The book of interest will be chosen each class from getepic.com, and the teacher will screen share for reading in class. Epic is an online library of books and videos used to teach and support children learning to read. Parents can access getepic.com and sign up for one book a day for FREE without creating an account. The books are all age appropriate, fiction and nonfiction books.
Getepic.com is used to find age appropriate books to read during each class. This is also mentioned in the class description.
