US Grade Kindergarten - 1
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: **I teach classes with my baby in the room or by wearing baby. Baby may be seen or heard at times during class.** **Cost explanation: I typically charge $25 for each one-time tutoring sessions. This is once a week for nine weeks. The cost is the same as the one-time classes just a big purchase up front for the multi-day classes. You can choose this multi-day class or the one-time class. They consist of the same things.** In this multi-day class, learners will receive one on one instruction and guided practice in Reading, Writing, and/or Math. The lessons will be planned according to the learner's needs. You can book as many sections as you want if more time is needed. *Guardians, please let me know the needs of your learner, so I can better plan for the tutoring sessions. You can let me know these needs in the "Welcome Post" or in a message. If no needs are provided TWO DAYS BEFORE the start time of the first class, I will do an assessment during the first class to determine the level of the learner. We will begin the actual tutoring classes after that first day of assessing. My classroom is relaxed, welcoming, and fun! I want all my learners to be comfortable and excited about learning with Mrs. Makenna. Classes will be taught using direct instruction, games, manipulatives, and providing strategies and other resources. My name is Mrs. Makenna! I love all things math, phonics, reading and sensory play. I even like some science and geography. I taught in the classroom before I started moving around the country with my husband’s job. We love to travel and explore new places. I have been all over the United States and Central America.
My passion is working with children, and I have missed being in the classroom. However, online teaching has been just as fun! I have had the pleasure of working with some learners for several years and have seen so much growth in them. I can’t wait to watch your learner(s) grow, too.
