Class Experience
These Certified Orton Gillingham lessons with individualized attention will to help your learner strengthen their reading skills or help them learn how to read. These ongoing lessons will be catered to your child's individual needs. I teach online and in-person to ages 5-15 specializing in phonics, reading, spelling, grammar, writing, and ESL. My classes will be phonics-centered, multi-sensory (whenever possible), and fun because reading and writing should be fun! Skills learned: Word structures for automatic decoding and spelling. Word recognition and spelling of high frequency words, including irregular words. Vocabulary, word understanding, and word-learning skills. Sentence-level text reading with ease, expression, and understanding. Listening comprehension of narrative and informational text. Reading comprehension of narrative and expository text. Organization of information for oral or written expression. Proofreading skills. Self-monitoring for word recognition accuracy and comprehension.
Your child will need a lined dry erase board w/marker and eraser. Printed materials are to be printed prior to the start of each class.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
