Learner will be initially assessed using a rubric of letters and sound formation. Learner will be monthly assessed using a rubric of the letters introduced and reviewed.Class Experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
The learner will receive an assessment during the first class so that we may begin at their level. I will use slides, stories, games, poems and rhymes to teach and review phonics starting with phonemes and segmenting. As the learner becomes more proficient with the phonetic sounds, I will introduce whole language sight words from the Dolch Sight Word Lists and stories. I will then move on to syllables, digraphs, blends, diphthongs, vowels, and consonants. Finally, we will move to reading comprehension and vocabulary building.
Learning Goals
Learner will gain phonological awareness of each letter of the English alphabet progressing toward reading readiness and fluency.

I have taught preschool in the classroom for 10 years. I have been a Girl Scout leader for 15 years. I have homeschooled my own children. And lastly, I have been a Sunday school teacher for K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades for 18 years.
