The first session is an assessment session to get to know your student and their needs. A phonics screener will be given and a fluency test to determine your child's specific skill needs. Feedback will be provided to you after the session.

Students will work their way through mastering a phonics scope and sequence in order to be more successful readers.

I am a certified Reading Specialist with a bachelor's degree in special education and a master's in reading. I am certified in special education, early childhood education, and reading. This is my 14th year of teaching.

Some activities done during our session will be messaged home to repeat. A weekly text may be messaged as well. Students are expected to read it once a day to work on their currently needed phonics skill.

Students will be assessed via Literacy First, a formal phonics assessment. A copy will be provided to the parent every 4 sessions.

30 minutes per class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
