Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 4
In this 1:1 reading intervention tutoring class, my goal is to help your child become a confident, capable reader by meeting them where they are and supporting their individual learning needs.

Is your child not yet reading? No problem! We'll focus on building strong pre-reading skills to set them up for success.

Is your child already reading but struggling? That’s okay, too. I’ll begin with an informal assessment to understand their current skill level and identify areas that need strengthening. From there, I’ll tailor our sessions to support their growth and boost their confidence.

After the initial assessment, each tutoring session will include targeted, research-based interventions personalized to your child’s unique needs. This can include but is not limited:
-Phonemic and phonological awareness
-Sight word familiarization
-Spelling
-Fluency Practice
-Reading comprehension

My instruction utilizes a multi-sensory approach. I engage different senses so that your child is more likely to not only learn the information but is also able to retain it. My tutoring sessions are very much student led. If a student has mastered something we will move on, and if a student needs more practice, we will continue to practice. If a student is enjoying an activity, we will incorporate that into other activities. If a student is not interested in something, we will revisit that topic in a way that is more interesting to them in order to keep them engaged.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’m happy to help!

Learning Goals

Your child will become a more confident learner as they improve upon their reading skills.
