Class Experience

One-on-one tutoring is completely catered to the child's needs. Before each session, it is very helpful parents provide me with a list of specific concerns and strengths of the child! This way I can come to the session having tailored my lesson to the specific student. 

Each session will consist of 15 minutes of fluency practice, 15 minutes of word work, and 15 minutes of reading comprehension skills and practice! All parts of the session will work in tandem to improve your child's reading comprehension and fluency skills. I'll use a combination of lecture, slides, games, and activities in each tutoring session.

My teaching style is to be very hands on and involved with my students' learning! I do my best to make learning fun and exciting. I want my student to leave each session with me feeling proud of themselves.

Hello and welcome to my profile! 
I am an Oklahoman with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a teacher's certificate in K-8 education! I have been an educator in the US for 7 years now and one thing is certain: I LOVE TEACHING KIDS! 
I teach classes from reading and math intervention to home economics courses like jam-making and baking. I've also been known to thrown in a photography class or two! I believe that students should be well-rounded, challenged, and most of all they should have fun as they are learning. 
Students in my class will engage in close reading, lively discussion, hands on experiences, and more. My goal is that each time a child attends a class of mine, they are engaged and leave excited about something that they've learned! 
Here are a few fun facts about me:
1. I used to be a competitive swimmer.
2. It is my goal to visit every National Park in the US.
3. I have a black Labrador named Daisy.
4. I have taught children from ages 2 all the way to 12.
5. I love to bake...especially bread.
