Are you looking for a fun and engaging private class to help your learners practice and improve their reading and writing skills throughout the school year and during the summer break? If so, let's work together!

As a certified special education teacher, I currently teach learners who are below grade level in reading and use strategies to encourage and motivate them to read various types of texts and write with proper mechanics with confidence. I also work with students who have difficulty focusing and completing their schoolwork. In addition to the core reading and writing support, this class will integrate social-emotional learning strategies as well.

In this class, learners will receive individualized instruction and practice in the following areas:

-Reading Comprehension
-Reading Fluency
-Vocabulary
-Writing Mechanics (grammar, sentence structure, and spelling).

Prior to each session, you will have an opportunity to discuss your learner's reading and writing needs. The learner will also be asked about the areas they would like to focus on as well. Learners will be provided with an extension assignment to complete outside of the session to further promote growth in their reading and writing skills.

If you do not see a time that fits your learner's schedule, please contact me to discuss times that will work with their schedule.

Learning Goals

Students will improve their reading and writing skills in support of being active readers and proficient writers.
