Description
Class Experience
Learners will develop their non-fiction writing skills from planning to the completion of a focused piece using 'ingredients' they can use again and again on future pieces.
I am a fully qualified teacher (BAPA, PGCE: Post Graduate Certificate in Education in English and Drama and Contextual Studies) with 16+ years of experience teaching English, Drama, Music, PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health, and Citizenship education), and Performing Arts in bricks and mortar schools, where I currently still teach part-time. I also run small group confidence-building workshops and 1:1 tutoring sessions. I have many years of experience leading community workshop schemes (like 'create a play in a week') and local drama groups for ages 4 to 16 as well. I write scripts and blog content, including many plays which have been performed on stages.
Learners will benefit the most from this class by completing any unfinished work for homework or trying out a new piece of writing (for detailed feedback in the next live class).
Please make sure your learner has paper and pen, a notebook, or knows how to open a writing document on their device whilst still being able to view the classroom, to write the piece of non-fiction each week.
Each assignment will be marked and detailed feedback given of successes and areas to work on.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
