I spent the first decade of my professional writing career as an essayist writing personal thought pieces for women's and parenting lifestyle magazines. My first published book is a memoir and I've assisted many authors on writing theirs. I consider personal essays to be the short-story versions of a memoir as they focus on a particular time in one's life and they are the hero in their own story. I am also the mother of a college student and a high-school junior so I have experienced assisting teens in this writing process firsthand. 

Homework Offered
If more than one session is booked, homework will be assigned based on what was accomplished in the session. The time required will depend on the learner. 
If only one session is booked, the only homework is to take what was learned and write an awesome essay.
