1:1 Private Tutoring Foundational Reading Skills - Kindergarten & 1st Grade
In this private 1:1 tutoring, students will start with an assessment so I can place them with appropriate lessons based on where they are at in their learning journey.

Assessment
Your student will start out with a placement assessment so I an work with your child on lessons that help where they are at academically. You student will also be progress monitored so we can see how they are progressing.Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 1
Beginner Level
What will be taught? We will first take an assessment so I know where your child is at academically. Student will then start working on lessons with the following activities: phonological awareness, alphabet drills, new patterns, blending, vocabulary & sound matching, letter find, word comprehension, spelling, auditory drills, handwriting, sight words, and games. How will you teach? Students will receive instruction through an interactive PowerPoint presentation. We will be able to go at the learners pace, stopping when more instruction is needed or going faster through skills the learner is mastering. Each lesson builds on the other. How much will learners get to interact with you? Since we will be 1:1 your learner will get to ask any question they have. Your learner will be interacting with me and the PowerPoint presentation.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to recognize letters and sounds, blend and segment CVC words, as well as practice spelling, handwriting, and sight words.

I will be using a PowerPoint presentation to teach the interactive lessons. If I see your learner is needing a brain break, I will use Youtube to play a Jack Hartman educational video to sing and dance to.

Whiteboard and Marker (paper in a plastic sheet protector works well too)
