Class Experience

Hello! :)

In this private one on one tutoring session, I work one on one with my learner to cover the topics to build a solid foundation in programming in C++ (Cplusplus) for beginners. I will talk with my learner / their parents, and make sure we follow a plan where their objectives, goals and requirements are met.

While this tutoring session covers all that is needed to form a solid foundation in C++ programming, you also have the option to pick specific sections to cover. If you are not sure which ones would be best, you can just send me a message saying "I want my learner to be ready for first year of college in Computer Engineering", and I will specifically divide a learning plan that aligns the best with your goals!

The pace, strategy, and methods used will be based on the student's preferences and learning styles, making this session ideal to students from any grade level, as well as homeschooled students!

In this tutoring session, you will be able to:

- Have FUN programming!
- Be ready for your next programming class or college.
- Be well-prepared for real-world applications and (if applicable) exams.
- Achieve the grades you set for yourself, or score even higher! (if applicable)

- Fulfill your learning goals and objectives.
- Master Programming and excel in it like never before.
- Boost confidence in your abilities.

Remember, you are unique! Whether you want to excel and get ahead in Programming, or simply need help catching up, I will design a personalized strategy suited specifically for you!

Homeworks and assessments are optional, and totally up to you! The content we cover during the sessions will be enough, but additional practice can be beneficial!

I have been teaching Programming over 9 years, being repeatedly distinguished as the "teacher of the year". During that time, I found that the following topics are best suited for beginner level, introductory lessons in C++ programming, but once again, we can always adjust and divide a lesson plan according to your wants and needs.

Topics include, but are not limited to:

- Variables and Data Types (int, float, double, char; identifiers, variables, data types, constants)
- Console IO Input Output Operations (cin, cout)
- Operators and Expressions (arithmetic operators, logical operators, modulo, relational/comparative operators)
- Branch Statements (if/else, switch)
- Loops (do-while, while, for loop, break and continue)
- Functions (pass by value, pass by reference)
- Arrays (standard arrays, 2D arrays ("matrices"), multi-dimensional arrays)
- Pointers (pointers declaration, pointer arithmetic, pointers and functions, pointers and arrays, malloc, calloc)
- Strings (basics)
- Structures
- Recursion

If this is something you would like to try, or have any questions, just send me a message and we discuss further your needs, and how you can achieve them!

Do you want to try it out but are not sure if it is right for you? You can always book the first lesson with me, and if you don't like it, or feel that this is not what you are looking for, I will provide you with a 100% refund on the first lesson!

Master's Degree in Science from University Of Ottawa
Hello and thank you for checking out my profile! :)

My name is Ziad, I am an Electrical and Computer engineer! I hold a masters' degree with over 8 years of teaching experience and 3 years of industry experience. I am currently pursuing a PhD, as I want to become a professor and teach at the University. That's almost the only thing I see myself doing for the rest of my life. While I always loved teaching, my 8+ years of TAing at the University Of Ottawa, and obtaining the title of "Teacher of the year" numerous times fueled that desire.

I can help you with:

- Maths (School level) : Whether that is high school maths, middle school maths, or primary school maths, I can be your guy!
- Maths (Univeristy level): I can probably help in this too (in particular Calculus), but send me a message to discuss your needs further!
- Introduction to Computer Programming (C, Java, C#, Python, and other languages)
- Fundamentals of Object Oriented Programming
- Digital Systems

If you are not sure whether we would be a good match, especially for a course that is not listed, just shoot me a message and we can discuss further!

When we enter school, we are told that we need to separate fun from studying. I don't think such separation is necessary, nor is it helpful! I believe that the best way to learn something, is to have fun doing it. And I try to make that happen in numerous ways - sometimes through short stories to introduce and illustrate concepts, sometimes through introductory riddles/games, and always, ALWAYS, with concrete examples. No matter what your needs and preferences are, I can always adapt my teaching strategy to serve you best!

With my tutoring, you will be able to:

- Obtain the highest grades in the subjects we cover.
- Boost confidence in your abilities.
- Receive techniques and strategies to tackle exams with specialized techniques and strategies.
- Overcome any Maths and programming fear.
- Be well-prepared for exams and real-world applications.
- Look at Maths and programming as fun and relatable
- Receive immediate feedback
- Understand the "why" behind concepts.
- Have fun along the way.

And... That's it! Here are some other interesting things about me:

- I love playing chess.
- I make movies.
- I love designing video games, especially interactive narrative games!
- I find almost anything interesting :)
