Homework
If the learner and/or parent would like for homework to be assigned, I will assign approximately 30 minutes of homework per week.Assessment
If the student continues to take lessons with me for an extended period of time, I can create a periodic assessment program to accompany the weekly lessons if the parent wishes.Class Experience
These once weekly, 45-minute 1:1 Spanish lessons or tutoring sessions are completely customized for your child and will focus on achieving your learner's specific Spanish learning goals. If your learner has NOT already taken my one-time, 25-minute 1:1 private session, your child or you will complete a quick questionnaire after he/she/they is/are enrolled in this ongoing class that will let me know what you would like to get out of our weekly sessions. We can review homework, complete homework together, focus on any vocabulary or grammar concepts that your child finds difficult, or focus on conversational speaking. In addition, if you would just like for your child to have private Spanish lessons but don't have any direction to give me, I can create fun, engaging lessons for your learner appropriate for his/her/their level of Spanish and geared toward his/her/their interests. For example, if your student is a beginning level student and we are learning basic colors in our lesson, after introducing all of the basic colors, I would teach your child how to say what his/her/their favorite color is. Then we could talk about the color of his/her/their house, the color of his/her/their pets, the color of his/her/their favorite clothes, and the colors associated with his/her/their favorite hobby. In this way, your learner is not only learning how to say the colors that are important in his/her/their life, but he/she/they is/are also learning the vocabulary that is important in his/her/their life. I love meeting students exactly where they are and engaging them with their interests and by building a connection. I have experience teaching all ages, from 3 to 18, and all levels, from beginner to advanced. I enjoy all ages and levels for different reasons, and I really love being able to work with students 1-on-1. We can make some great progress when I can focus solely on your child. I can't wait to work with your student!
Learning Goals
The learning goals will be dependent upon each individual student.

Supply List
I suggest that the learner uses the Duolingo app or a similar app to practice his/her Spanish for 15-30 minutes at a time 3-4 times per week. However, this is not a requirement for our tutoring sessions or lessons. If the learner already uses another language learning tool, please continue with it if your learner is interested and if you are seeing results. The important thing is contact with Spanish in some way outside of class time.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
