Intermediate - Advanced Level
Welcome to my private watercolor flower class en Español! This is a class for learners who speak Spanish at home or want to practice holding a conversation in Spanish. I speak Spanish (From Mexico) fluently. Your learner's Spanish level should be A2, B1, or above. The focus of this class for learners to practice Spanish AND they get to have an art class in Spanish. However, if a student forgets a word or needs to ask a question/provide an explanation in English that is 100% allowed. This class is great for students that want to practice conversational Spanish while learning how to watercolor! What happens if a student isn't 100% able to speak or understand Spanish? Before our class starts send me a message with information about where your learner is. If they need me to speak in Spanish and translate to English that is not a problem. If a learner would like me to help them put sentences together or correct them when they speak I will also help them. This class is about making mistakes and learning from them. It's also about doing a fun activity while we have a general conversation! I love speaking Spanish and I want that same feeling for your learner! This is a perfect class for the learner who feels shy in larger classes and wants to learn watercolor techniques. Or the learner that loves to talk (especially about art) and wants undivided attention! Learners will need to turn on their camera so I can verify it's them (per outschool policy) then they can turn their cameras off if they wish or turn them on as needed. Their focus should be on creating and having fun! What is the difference between this private class and the group flower class? In this class I am able to tailor the instruction more to where the child is. As learners learn watercolor techniques and floral techniques they will also be able to ask questions about art materials and get feedback on how they can make improvements. ***Students do not need to have prior experience with watercolor. *** This class will focus on creating loose designs/illustrations of botanicals. Students will not learn how to paint botanicals in a realistic way. Instead they are encouraged to follow their imagination! What will students learn? - I will be introducing art techniques and materials in Spanish -How to activate watercolors -How to hold brushes -Watercolor techniques (Beginners: 4 basic techniques Advanced: Revise basic techniques and learn new ones) -Detailed step by step on how to make leaves and roses -We put the information together to make the flower bouquets -I will also take your child's goals into consideration while we work together. For example a goal can be to not get muddy colors so I will talk to them a bit about color theory or show them color combinations that are more harmonious. While I strive to do this in the group class it is not possible to give students that one one one attention as I would in a private class. - Learners will be asked questions about creativity, likes, artistic goals, difficulties in art, etc in Spanish in order to give them an opportunity to practice speaking in Spanish Instruction: I will be speaking to learners in Spanish. If they don’t remember a word or they need help communicating in Spanish I will correct them or guide them. Speaking Spanish perfectly is not required! I will be introducing art vocabulary and learners will follow along with my live instruction. Learners can replicate exactly what I am showing them or they can choose to follow their intuition. They will be able to use their intuition to use their own color combinations if they choose or to create the botanicals in a style they feel drawn to. Since this is a private class I am making sure that if a student needs extra time mastering a concept that they receive it. I match the learn where they are in the learning process making sure I am answering any question. They will also have the opportunity to create their own designs based on what they have learned. This will strengthen students' understanding and develop their creativity. Final result: Students will have created samples of watercolor techniques as well as florals. They will have an opportunity to freely create their own florals as they wish. This exercise can be replicated and used to create gifts for family and friends for greeting cards and decorative art! After class: Students can continue to practice these techniques on their own, but are not required to. NOTE ON MATERIALS: Watercolor paper must be 140lb weight to hold the water properly. Brushes must be for watercolor student/prof level. I strongly encourage watercolor paint to be student/professional ***Special note: Students final result may vary from my own demonstration due to students having (or wanting to use) different colors in their projects*** Thank you for considering me to teach your learner(s) here is a coupon code! Greetings, learners and families!
I'm teacher Nazaret (pronounced nah-sah-reht), and I'm thrilled to be a part of the Outschool community. I officially joined Outschool in 2022, in the late fall of 2022 I embarked on my journey as a dedicated Outschool educator. Although my journey with Outschool is relatively fresh, my experience in teaching extends far beyond this platform.
With a rich educational background, I hold a BA degree in Psychology and an MA in Education-Counseling. My teaching experience encompasses a diverse range of learners, spanning from the littlest learners all the way to adult learners. My expertise lies not only in imparting essential life skills like career exploration, time management, and personal responsibility, but also in nurturing creativity through captivating mediums like painting and art journaling.
I'm more than an educator; I'm an artist with a vibrant creative journey. My passion flows through mixed media, acrylic, watercolor, and oil painting. Nature is my muse, and I often find myself wandering through arboretums, capturing its beauty through my lens. This love for photography finds its way into my artwork, enriching the creative tapestry that defines my style.
You can explore my artistic creations not only in the form of original pieces but also across an array of products like prints and stickers.
My creative exploration isn't confined to my personal pursuits. I extend my artistic wisdom to the realm of education, offering adult watercolor courses to both individuals and corporate groups. This holistic approach to teaching enables me to instill artistic skills while fostering personal growth and expression.
I'm not only fluent in both English (US) and Spanish (Mexico), but I'm also bicultural, embracing the unique nuances of each language and culture.
My teaching philosophy resonates with my own journey as a learner. Each learner carries a treasure trove of knowledge, and together, we uncover the gems within. I believe in nurturing confidence, particularly among introverted learners. I understand the challenge of stepping into the spotlight, and I'm committed to creating a comfortable space where learners can grow at their own pace. Whether it's camera breaks, voice alternatives, or personalized instruction, I collaborate closely with parents and learners to ensure a supportive and effective learning environment.
What do I aspire for my learners to gain from my classes? Three core pillars:
1. **Knowledge**: Bridging gaps, strengthening understanding, and embracing new knowledge.
2. **Confidence**: Empowering learners to believe in their abilities and fostering growth through self-assurance.
3. **Support**: Fostering a sense of co-creation and collaboration, making each learner an essential part of the educational journey.
