Are you seeking motivation, encouragement, and assistance for your student (homeschool or brick & mortar) in need of improved reading skills? Look no further - my Private One-on-One Reading Tutoring offers a dynamic and supportive learning environment to nurture and enhance reading abilities. This is a tutoring class, catering to students ranging from K to 1st grade. Our time together is enriched with games, songs, worksheets, interactive activities, and other educational resources in PDF format and PowerPoint slides. This is not a comprehensive teaching course. My classes are available on a convenient, ongoing basis to provide consistent support and practice. Examples of tutoring assistance: 1. Letter identification and sounds 2. Blending and segmenting words 3. Phonics 4. Sight words 5. Fluency 6. Vocabulary 7. Grammar 8. Comprehension Each session adheres to a routine, similar to below: - 3 minutes for relationship building - 2 minutes for a brain warm-up - 22 minutes dedicated to skills - 3 minutes for a wrap-up/brain breaks In the 30-minute sessions, we focus on one or two closely related skills, such as reading, comprehension, phonics, and reading, or grammar and writing according to the student's needs. To maintain progress and ensure thorough understanding, two weekly sessions are recommended for this class. If you’re interested in additional tutoring days, please feel free to secure sessions through the availability tab. Please note the following class requirements: - Cameras and audio must be on at all times to ensure proper pronunciation and engagement. - Periodic Parental Observation is appreciated in case of technical difficulties. - It is advisable for learners to use a laptop or computer for the best experience, as iPads may not fully support certain interactive games. PLEASE AVOID locations that cause wifi issues such as vehicles, parks, etc. - Our sessions involve the use of whiteboards and interactive games, which require some basic digital literacy skills. We can work together on teaching these skills with a supervising adult to model screen sharing, clicking and dragging, highlighting, and location of the writing tool to enhance your learner's interactive experience. - Please refrain from eating during sessions as it disrupts workflow and poses a safety concern while speaking. Drinks are welcome. As per Outschool policy, if a student arrives more than 10 minutes late, the class will be considered missed and will not be eligible for a refund. Additionally, refunds are not available for classes canceled within the 24-hour window. For rescheduling requests, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. While I strive to accommodate your needs, rescheduling within the same week is subject to availability. I look forward to helping your student embark on a journey of reading improvement and confidence. Join me to foster a lifelong love of reading and learning.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Ms. Stacy, and I am an experienced teacher who focuses on all things English Language Arts. I have been in the classroom for over a decade and online for three years. I switched to remote working when the pandemic hit and have never looked back to the traditional classroom. I fell in love with remote teaching!
Throughout my experience with e-learning, I have noticed a great need for more social/emotional engagement for my students, and I realized that I have the opportunity to bring my teaching experience to a platform where I can provide that safe and fun social environment partnered with academics to fill that need.
My philosophy is that academics and life skills are best learned through fun and engaging activities. It is this style of teaching that I believe can help students retain information and make the learning process more enjoyable. My lessons develop important life skills, such as teamwork, communication, and critical thinking, and of course, support academics! My classes are designed so that students will enjoy participating while also developing their skills.
Whether you are looking for a fun way to enrich your child's learning or wanting them to develop new skills, my classes will be a sure fit! I am committed to providing a safe, and parent/student supportive environment where our students can thrive.
See you soon!
