Class Experience
US Grade 1 - 3
In this course, students will improve their speaking skills in preparation for the Cambridge flyers exam. To do so, we may practice describing pictures, a key skill for the Cambridge exams and also our conversation skills. Activities are fun and practical to success on the exam. Activities in class may include: 1. Describing differences: This assesses the ability to understand and talk about differences, including color, size, number, position, and what people/things look like. 2. Answering and asking questions: This assesses the ability to use basic vocabulary and grammar to communicate in simple phrases and sentences. 3. Describing pictures and events: This assesses the ability to use basic vocabulary and grammar to describe objects and events. 4. Question wheel and games: This assesses the ability to use basic vocabulary and grammar to answer questions about themselves. What is your teaching approach? My approach with learners is very patient and kind. I emphasize positive reinforcement as much as possible and let the students know that their hard work is paying off. Throughout the class, students receive lots of praise—words like "Good work! You're doing great! Excellent job!"—to keep them motivated and confident in their progress. What is your expertise? I have lots of experience teaching international students (Chinese, Russian, Korean) and have been doing so for the past six years. I've taught students between the age ranges of 3-13 in the past. ESL companies I have worked for include: Qkids and Bilingval. In total I've taught over 1000+ classes online. I also hold a 120 hour TESOL certification.

Hello! My name is Amy, and I’m excited to embark on this learning journey with you!
I hold a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a 120-hour TESOL certification. Over the past seven years, I’ve taught ESL (English as a Second Language) online to students all over the globe, working with learners as young as 3 years of age to adults. I’ve had the privilege of teaching over 1,000 classes, which has given me a wide range of experience with students of different levels and backgrounds. In addition to my experience in the ESL sector, I also have a strong foundation in phonics and reading instruction, and I specialize in helping young readers build strong literacy skills.
My teaching philosophy is simple: learning should be fun and engaging! I focus on creating interactive lessons, using tools like Google Slides and PowerPoint to make lessons as interesting as possible. You’ll find that I incorporate popular children's characters—like Minecraft, Pokemon, Super Mario, Paw Patrol and more!—into my lessons to make them exciting and relatable. I believe that when a child is engaged, they are more motivated to learn, especially when they feel supported and encouraged.
Whether you're working on letter recognition, learning to read or building English fluency, I am committed to helping your child develop the skills they need to become confident with the English language. I look forward to learning more about each individual I teach and tailoring my lessons to meet their unique needs. Together, we can make learning a rewarding and enjoyable experience!
Thank you for considering my services—I’m confident you’ll be pleased with the results, and I can’t wait to work with you!
