Do you need help understanding a math concept? Let me help you build confidence and be successful in a fun, safe and engaging environment! I have taught math in a elementary special education resource setting. I love to individualize lessons so students can be successful, build their confidence in their skills and find that math is fun! I will teach the math concepts your student needs through a variety of means such as slides, the Zoom whiteboard feature, my own whiteboard, manipulatives and games. I love to be hands on, engaging and interactive. Your student will be participating the whole class time. I teach concepts with a variety of different strategies. I introduce concepts using the I do, we do, you do method. I will show your student how to solve it, we will work together solving problems (bulk of lesson) then your student will practice a problem by themselves. After registering for the class, parents will let me know at least 24 hours before class starts what concept needs to be worked on. Your child will have a positive experience with me as well as math! Math concepts I teach -addition/subtraction with and without regrouping -intro to multiplication -multiplication fluency practice -intro to division -division fluency practice -multi digit multiplication and division -intro to fractions -add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions -I can explain, teach and help with any homework problems as well! This class is meant to be an introductory class to see if we are a good fit for further tutoring!

Student will understand a math concept by the end of class and build confidence to feel successful.

Paper and pencil or a whiteboard to practice problems. Homework from school(optional).

Hello! My name is Natalie! I am a former Special Education Resource Teacher of 4 years. I have taught grades K-6 reading, writing and math small groups. I taught students with learning disabilities for 30 to 45 minutes a day, then they would go back to their homeroom class.
I love teaching students new strategies to solve problems. Everyone learns differently and everyone can absolutely learn and succeed. I love seeing my students finally understand math watch their confidence grow and have a blast learning! I love helping students learn to use the different tools in their tool box to solve a math problem. There are multiple ways a problem can be solved. I love teaching different strategies because one will work for students over the other.
