Perfect for complete beginners, intermediate players, or advanced players who are looking to develop new skills and further their technique. No previous experience or knowledge is required. Possible topics that will be worked on: -How to hold the guitar and pick -How to tune the guitar -Playing position and rest position -How to strum -Hand/finger position -How to read chords, tab, and music...
Students will develop and improve their guitar skills such as how to hold the instrument, playing position and rest position, how to strum, proper hand and finger position, play chords and chord progressions, count and play strumming patterns, and how to play songs using chords, and how to play melodies. They will also improve their rhythm, counting skills, music reading skills, and pattern recognition.
I am a certified music educator with a M.A in Music & Music Education. I have been playing the guitar for 19 years. I have been teaching group music classes for 10 years. I also have taught private music lessons for 15 years. I love this instrument and specialize in teaching beginning instrumental music lessons to young beginners.
Students must have their own guitar (6 strings). Guitars must be tuned before the start of every class (parents please assist with this as needed). Songs and exercises will be provided during each lesson.
