Children in this guided/levelled reading class will build confidence and skill, while engaging in reading activities to increase word recognition, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
I have a Master's Degree with Honours in Educational Studies from the University of Strathclyde. I have 17 years of teaching experience, including a focus on reading intervention, phonetic development, reading for understanding, and critical thinking.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Here in the United Kingdom, we speak and write British English. In the reading, there may occasionally be words that are spelled differently to American English (in the USA: color; in Britain: colour). There may also be occasional vocabulary words that relate to British English, rather than American English. Any unfamiliar words will be discussed with your child to ensure comprehension and to support vocabulary development.
