Levelled reading is a wonderful way to improve fluency and comprehension. The books in this series of levelled reading include fiction, non-fiction, poetry (rhyme), and beautiful illustrations. Developed and published by Twinkl, the books in this levelled reading series have been approved for their high quality by the UK Department of Education as part of the publisher's Approved Phonics Teaching Programme. These private levelled reading classes are ideal for focussed learning and individualised support for your child. Children will build confidence in their reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension through the levels within this series. Children will apply their phonics sounds and tricky (high frequency) word knowledge gradually through each level. GENERAL AGE GUIDELINES: Level 1: Pre-readers check out my Story Time class! https://bit.ly/megansstorytime Level 2: Age 5 Level 3: Ages 5-6 Level 4: Ages 5-6 Level 5: Ages 6-7 Level 6: Ages 6-8+ (These ages are examples only. Children can enrol in one class, or as often as would be beneficial to your child's reading development. If taking this class more than one time, I will ensure that appropriate data tracking is monitored as your child progresses through each level. Our First Class: Before class begins, please contact me directly to select a reading level for your child and to address the needs of your child. Our first class together will begin with a short assessment to help select the ideal reading level for your child. Our Continued Classes: In our reading classes, we will begin by reviewing phonetic sounds and tricky words. Your child will then be guided through the reading, with individualised focussed support. Your child will develop word and sound recognition, reading fluency, phonetic awareness, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. Other Details
Parental Guidance
Here in the United Kingdom, we speak and write using British English vocabulary and spelling. In the reading, there may occasionally be words that are spelled differently to American English (in the USA: color; in Britain: colour). There may also be occasional vocabulary words that relate to British English, rather than American English. Any unfamiliar words will be discussed with your child to ensure comprehension and to support vocabulary development.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
