Students will learn strategies to improve self-regulation, ADHD, and anger control
I have been a counselor for over 25 years, I have a Masters in Counseling. I am also endorsed and have taught elementary education and Special Education. I have written and managed over 30 504 plans each year. I have had several trainings on the topics of anger management and ADHD. I have ran small group support sessions for students at the elementary level for over 25 years on these topics and have used the materials that I will be using. This class is to learn techniques, and is not therapeutic in nature.
Students might want to have their own copy of Hunter and His Amazing Remote Control, but it is not required. Supplies to make their remote (a packet can be ordered) glue that will work with materials chosen. There will be instructions on how to make the remote with other materials, so you would not need to purchase the packet. I do not profit from any sale of materials, nor am I associate with the company. Any copies students need will be sent through the classroom. Instructions will be given on how to make items to help with self control, this will be optional for them to do on their own. Links for those that want to get the materials for their learners I will post a lot of materials, some which are supplemental for families to use. Some Items we will discuss in class, however, if printing is a problem we can work around that. For students to be able to use the techniques regularly, it is suggested the parents become familiar with the techniques so they can encourage the skills and help them when needed. This class is designed to teach techniques for them to use and is not a therapeutic class.
