Class Experience
For students who want dedicated attention and support on topics projects of particular interest to them. Private lessons can either be run with customized content, or follow specific class content. Tactful support empowers learners to identify their own strengths and goals, and track the evolution of their creative interests. We will work together to integrate photography into their other interests, hobbies, and skills, and reach a more holistic creative identity. Whether they want to build a portfolio, start a business, or understand photo theory, I will provide resources, processing space, feedback, and tailored prompts to support their growth and understanding. First, we will plan out their hopes and goals for our mentoring time. Sessions might cover... ⭐ Specific 101 or 201 class curriculum ⭐ Identifying strengths from their current portfolio ⭐ Finding famous photographers who worked with subject matter of interest, for inspiration and further technical understanding ⭐ Designing a plan for a portrait photography business ⭐ Feedback and processing space about photoshoots and real-life experiences ⭐ Identifying internships and other opportunities that may provide helpful skillsets ⭐ Learning about specific genres of photography and identifying where their interests fit in ⭐ Practicing technical critique and expanding verbal analytical skills ⭐ Creating a portfolio for submission to universities, scholarships, the fair, competitions, etc.

Parental Guidance
Some photographers and/or photo theorists who we learn about may have photography work or analysis that involves nudity and themes of sexuality, much like you might encounter in an exhibit at an art museum or in fashion photography. We will not explore these in class, but there is the possibility that students come upon them during further research.
