2 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this class, we will learn the building blocks of music theory & composition. Learners will experience different music notation software programs and learn how to write their own song or piece of music. Basic notation values, instrumentation, and how to correctly write music will be covered in this ongoing class. Questions are welcome before, during & after class. While learners do not need to have access to an instrument for this class, if they wish to play a song they have written, it would be beneficial to have the instrument ready for class. Other topics can be covered on request. Since this is a 1:1 class, all curriculum will be learner-directed. Sample schedule for a beginner: Week of March 6 - Discuss basic music notation Week of March 13 - note reading in multiple clefs Week of March 20 - rhythm & how to notate it Week of March 27 - music software programs
