One to one tutoring is ideal for students that are struggling with a particular concept in math or generally feel uneasy about the subject. We will be working together on the topics that your child is currently covering in class, whether that is helping with homework, reviewing skills, or studying for assessments. We also can work on filling in learning gaps (ie: fractions, integers, etc) to help them feel more confident. Many of my students are reluctant learners when it comes to math. I strive to build relationships with these students and build up their confidence as they see their true potential! I have been teaching Middle School Math for over 14 years and have worked in a variety of classroom settings ranging from self-contained classrooms to honors classes. As a Special Education teacher, I have particular expertise in working with students with varying needs, both intellectual and emotional. Once you sign up for a session, I will reach out to you to discuss any particular needs your child has and what topics I should prepare to cover.

My name is Nicole and I am a certified Elementary K-8 and Special Education teacher, Highly Qualified in Math. I teach math classes that focus on breaking down skills into manageable bites. I have sixteen years of experience working with neurodiverse learners in a variety of classroom settings including Self-Contained, Resource Room, Inclusion, Regular Education and Honors. I have been a Middle School Math tutor for the last twelve years and have sharpened my skills on how to reach different learners. The core of my teaching philosophy comes from building relationships with students and knowing that each student has his or her own unique way of understanding the material. I strive to help students be successful in all environments including public and private schools as well as homeschool.
In addition to teaching, I have three biological children and five rescue animals. We are also foster parents and enjoy having a full home! I began homeschooling my middle school aged children a couple years ago and love the extra time I get to spend with them as well as being able to personalize their learning.
