Class Experience
US Grade 8 - 12
In this individualized on-going class you get to choose the math topics we will discuss each week. Do you need help understanding a specific topic or completing an assignment? Are you getting ready to a take a math exam such that you need help with reviewing specific concepts or suggestions to help you prepare? I can help with concepts in Prealgebra, Algebra I & 2, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, Probability, and more. I was a straight A graduate student in math and I have been tutoring and teaching math for about twenty years, so I have lots of experience addressing math concerns, solving math problems, and acing math tests! I have also been told repeatedly by past students that I am very kind, helpful, and patient. Once you subscribe to an available weekly session, just let me know the details of your math needs including topic and relevant materials. Then I may come prepared to answer your questions and be your guide. The more information you provide, the easier it will be for me to fulfill your math needs and make the most of our tutoring sessions. If you do not see a weekly session that fits your schedule please send me a message on Outschool with the times that work best for you.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Mathematics from University of Houston
Hello there! My name is Eve Wallis. I have a master's degree in mathematics and more than twelve years experience teaching math courses in prealgebra, algebra, college algebra, precalculus, calculus, and applied technical math. I also have experience with teaching learner success classes involving lessons in test preparation, time management, goal setting, active reading, and more.
In my classes I like to give you worksheets to fill out as we go over important concepts together then do engaging and challenging activities to practice applying those concepts. I believe that we learn math by doing lots of examples, but that we should also gain an understanding of the "how" and the "why" of what we are learning.
Every learner is different and has different strengths and modes of learning in which they excel. With my classes I try to accommodate all different types of learners by providing audio, visual, and tactile elements in my lessons and by encouraging them to participate and ask questions.
Recently I have been homeschooling my two children and looking for more ways to cultivate math education. I have written and published two math books and, in the future, I hope to write more books on math topics and market a plethora of high quality math worksheets.
Thank you for checking out my profile and my classes. I hope I see you in one of my classes soon!
