Homework
1 hour per week. Homework will be assigned to practice identified skills and lessons, but will not be mandatory. These assignments will enable students to apply the skills learned in the tutoring session on their own, but will not be counted for a grade in the class, rather as a part of the independent practice process.Grading
A beginning and summary skills assessment can be provided to show student growth through the tutoring sessions. Traditional grades will not be offered for these sessions.Class Experience
In this 1:1 math tutoring class for elementary age children, we will focus mostly on skills from grades 3-6. Students will explore essential math concepts aligned with State Standards for mathematics. A few of the skills we will work on include, operations and algebraic thinking, numbers and operations in base ten, fractions, measurement and data, and geometry. Through engaging, personalized practice and activities to apply the skills they learn at home, students will develop problem-solving skills, build confidence, and create a strong foundation in math while having fun along the way.

1. Notebook and Pencils - A dedicated math notebook and plenty of pencils for taking notes and working through problems. 2. Calculator- A basic calculator for performing more complex calculations as needed. Nothing higher than a TIO-30X IIS Scientific Calculator should be required 3. Graph Paper - Useful for plotting graphs, drawing shapes, and working on geometry problems. 4. Ruler and Protractor - Essential tools for measuring and learning about angles and geometric figures.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
