Do you have a child that is struggling in Math? Do you have a neurodiverse child who needs to build their math skills or help to fill their learning gaps? Look no further than my One-on-One tutoring class!

I’m a licensed special education math teacher, and I have eight years of experience in the classroom. I have taught middle school math, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. I’m passionate about helping students learn math, but even deeper than that, I’m passionate about helping them overcome the barriers of self-esteem and anxiety that prevent students from learning and building their skills.

My approach to tutoring is to build student’s confidence in their ability to learn in addition to helping them develop their skills. First, we explore what your child already knows in the math class they are currently in, and we practice those topics to build their confidence and self-esteem in learning. Then, we find the learning gaps that are present and help them build those skills through modeling and guided practice. Building these foundational skills helps them move toward success in the topics they are currently learning. The final step is to build conceptual understanding so that they can be successful with anything they are given in class, such as exams or statewide standardized tests. We do this through real-world application of the topics being taught in their classes. In my eight years teaching students who may struggle or have neurodiverse needs, I find that this path often leads to success in time because it not only addresses academic concerns but also removes a lot of the barriers children have in becoming lifelong learners when you believe you can achieve something, you become unstoppable.

I am currently offering 45-minute time slots for tutoring. During the 1st session, I will assess how comfortable your child feels with the math they are currently learning and start to identify some skills that should focused on. After that, I develop an individualized plan of action based on where the student is currently in their understanding, what supports are needed to address individual learning needs, and what the student needs to learn to be successful in their class. After the plan has been finalized, our sessions will consist of modeling concepts and direct instruction from me, a period of guided practice where students can test their understanding with feedback, and then some independent practice to see how well the student is mastering the concept.

If you are interested in working with me for tutoring, please take a look at my schedule and pick a convenient time slot that works for you and your child. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to message me! I’m happy to answer any questions promptly.

My refund policy is aligned with Outschool’s general policy on refunds.

Thank you for taking a look at my listing. I look forward to your child joining tutoring and learning to love math again!
