1:1 Math Private Tutoring/Help: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Geometry

A 45 minute 1:1 Private Tutoring/Help with me, Jordan D, a passionate educator with 5+ years experience teaching and tutoring high school and middle school level Maths. I have designed this course as a way for students to review any materials or topics needed to help succeed in the classroom. I can assist in reviewing fundamental concepts, preparation of upcoming tests, quizzes, and/or exams, as well as looking ahead to what's to come in the curriculum. 


Topics in this course may include:
Pre-algebra:
Arithmetic and order of operations, algebraic expressions and integers, solving one-step equations and inequalities, decimals, factors, fractions, exponents, operations with fractions, ratio and proportions, percents, solving multi-step equations and inequalities, linear functions and graphing, area, and volume. 

Algebra I:
Functions, solving linear equations and inequalities, graphing equation of lines, systems of equations, exponents, factoring, parabolas, and radicals.

Geometry:
Coordinate geometry, transformations and proofs, triangle congruence and similarity, right triangles and trigonometry, area & perimeter, conic sections, circles, and 3D geometric shapes (volume and surface area).

Throughout each session, the learner and I will assess what particular topics are most needed at that time, review the concepts, and guide them through as many practice problems as possible to maximize the time spent together. I will also work through any study guides or reviews given by their teacher in order to explain material as well as emphasize good test taking strategies for that particular assessment. 

I ask that students should come prepared with any materials or questions they may wish to cover and paper, pencils, and whatever calculator they use in their Math class. 

At the end of each session, I may recommend further areas to review or practice in order to solidify the content discussed in the session, and can be reviewed at the next session. 

I believe that frequent meetings with consistent tutors are important to gain both understanding and confidence in Math. I recommend setting up weekly or bi-weekly sessions to establish a good rapport and ensure year-long success.
