This class is designed to provide focused instruction on the area of need of the individual child. These areas include prewriting, fine motor, and handwriting skills. I welcome children of all abilities.

Description

Class Experience

This class is customized to the individual needs of your child.

A basic class schedule will be:
1. Say Hello
2.  Review class rules and the session schedule 
3.  Warm-up the hands and fingers (5 min)
4.  Teach the skill area requested (10 min)
5.  Complete handwriting or prewriting practice sheets together (10 min)
6.  Say goodbye

The student will demonstrate improvement in the specific area of concern and techniques on ways to continue to improve.

5-10 minutes of daily practice is suggested. Practice can include activities from class and/or practice materials provided after class.

  1 file available upon enrollmentUpon enrollment, you will receive a questionnaire to help us decide what we are going to be working on. It will also ask for specific motivators for your child (favorite show, character, area of interest, etc.) so that I can tailor activities specifically to your child. 

Materials for this class will vary depending on your child’s needs. Basic supplies to have on hand include unlined paper, crayons, markers, small paintbrush, scissors, salt, shaving cream, mat/tray/plate, dry erase marker board, dry erase markers and eraser. Additional templates will be provided depending on your child’s needs. The ability to print materials is very helpful, but not required. Please let me know if you do not have access to a printer.

I will provide feedback on the session as well as any additional suggestions after completion of the class (please allow 24 hours).

30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
