For absolute beginners, I focus mostly on technique while I slowly introduce various concepts they will need to understand. I try to have them learn using music/songs they enjoy. We will talk a lot about how to practice properly throughout the week. I try to find the right balance to get them to practice consistently without them getting too overwhelmed. My goal is to try to keep things fun so that it won't feel like homework.0 hours per week outside of class
