🌈 This is an ongoing class offering individual tuition for beginner to advanced students in writing skills. We will work together in a collaborative setting, exploring all stages of the writing process.

🌈 Our sessions will be personalized to support the attainment of students’ individual academic goals.

🌈 For younger students, this may entail focusing on sentence structure (simple, compound, and complex) and writing engaging paragraphs. For older students, we will delve into different writing styles, including narrative, persuasive, expository, and analytical. A rough outline of our writing process will be: pondering ideas and building a solid premise or thesis; planning a sound, cohesive framework with topic points, details, and concluding links (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion); drafting our written piece; editing for clarity, eloquence, and flow; and publishing our final copy.

🌈 Classes can be weekly or twice-weekly, and for however long. Optional weekly writing tasks with marking and feedback is included.

🌈 Please note this course is personalized for each student! I will tweak and tailor the lesson content depending on students' age and individual academic goals. Our overarching aim for this course is to nurture confidence and a love and appreciation of words and writing.

🌈 I will assign optional weekly writing tasks for students to practice and extend what we've covered in class. Please could completed work be returned two days before the next class, to afford me the opportunity of providing feedback.

🌈 Objectives include, but are not limited to:

- The power and value of words: Exploring synonyms, antonyms, and nuance.
- Descriptive phrases: Composing expanded noun and verb groups.
- Clarity and eloquence in sentences: Identifying sentence types (declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, and imperative), and how to construct simple, compound and complex sentences. Understanding the importance of composing sentences of varying lengths and complexity for creative and engaging composition.
- Literary devices: Elevating our writing through figurative language (such as alliteration, assonance, simile, metaphor, personification, anthropomorphism, onomatopoeia, juxtaposition, oxymoron, imagery, hyperbole, and symbolism), and understanding the role of a fragment and rhetorical question as tools to enhance creative writing.
- Perfect paragraphs: Constructing model paragraphs.
- Literary composition: Planning and drafting a creative essay.

🌈 My teaching style supports a positive and supportive environment, where we can have fun through learning. We always learn best when relaxed and engaged, and I endeavor to facilitate classes that encourage this.
