***If this is your first class with me, use code carpenter10 for $10 off your first class with me!*** These tutoring sessions are targeted for students that are learning English as a second language or are struggling with their reading skills at any level; whether you are from a different country or are in the United States, but your first language is different than English. Your child will be taught how to listen, speak, read, and write in English. Based on the learner's needs, skills will include: Phonics and phonemic awareness skills: 1. Letters, sounds, and word patterns 2. CVC, base words, word patterns Speaking and listening skills: 1. Pronunciation 2. Conversation skills Reading: 1. Fluency 2. Comprehension skills Writing: 1. Writing conventions and style 2. Paragraphs and essays We will cover speaking, listening, reading, and writing the English language. The class is a 1:1 tutoring session and will be tailored to meet your child's specific English needs and goals. My teaching style is a mix of direct teaching, practice, games and interactive content and opportunities for your child to show what they have mastered. I use Google slides, Kahoot!, engaging resources, verbal and written practice with hands on and interactive learning to keep the student engaged and motivated. Your child will reach their English and meet their reading goals.
